These got us to where we're at now

Why are we surprised?

Watching the media play fan boy for Hillary is disgusting.

Watching supposedly intelligent women, and some men, claim to be insulted by what Trump said is scary.

I say scary because there is a chance that they are sincere. If that is true then we are indeed in deep trouble.

We are endowed with football players making millions to play a game disrespect our country.

While idiots in the media defend them as “It is their right.”

These same idiots cannot grasp that with rights comes responsibility.

These media idiots are the parents of the children who rush to find a safe place when they feel insulted.

Do you think they would have gone ashore on D Day? Would they have stood on Cemetery Ridge?  I don’t think so. I think they would find a way to accommodate Hitler and Tojo. I think they would have cut and ran and the South would have won and slavery would exist here, today. Not just in many Islamic theocracies.

Trump spoke of grabbing some female by her pussy. I think he has a whole generation to choose from.  And not just females. There are way too many metro sexual males for us to limit Trump.

What Bush did before 9/11

One more time I read this false narrative…Bush and Cheney failed to protect the country and 9/11 happened.

Now I am not a big fan of Bush. He started losing me right after 9/11 when he started this “Islam is the religion of peace” nonsense. And his strategy of “nation building” without first absolutely destroying the current leaders and totally occupying the country long enough to change the culture…see WWII and Germany and Japan…was totally wrong. Although Obama, against the advice of his military leaders, executed Bush’s mistake when he could have corrected it but he did not and ISIS was created.  But I digress.

First of all, remember that Clinton had an opportunity to arrest Osama bin Ladin but didn’t.  This was despite the fact the first WTC attack happened in January ’93 and we had suffered numerous attacks outside the US on US facilities. bin Ladin was offered to us in ’96 by Sudan and even though we knew what was going on Clinton refused saying incorrectly that we had no reason to hold him and then blaming the Saudi’s for not arresting him.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qgKAsfp_lc

And we had other opportunities to kill him but they were never completed. There was even a Grand Jury Indictment on bin Lain issued 11/6/1998 .  Read:  http://fas.org/irp/news/1998/11/98110602_nlt.html

Now when Bush took office in January 2001 the USS Cole attack had just happened and Bush decided to keep Clarke in his administration , who had been Clinton’s National Security Adviser, to insure that nothing was dropped in the transition.  Clarke’s comments are instructive as to what went on.

The following transcript documents a background briefing in early August 2002 by President Bush's former counterterrorism coordinator Richard A. Clarke to a handful of reporters,

Clarke: “….the Clinton administration had a strategy in place, effectively dating from 1998. And there were a number of issues on the table since 1998. And they remained on the table when that administration went out of office —…”

Now stop and think. A number of issues had been unresolved since ’98. That was over two years. Does that tell you that bin Ladin and the Taliban was not a priority with Clinton? It does me and it should you. Let’s go on.

“…the Bush administration decided then, you know, in late January, to do two things. One, vigorously pursue the existing policy, including all of the lethal covert action findings, which we've now made public to some extent.

And the point is, while this big review was going on, there were still in effect, the lethal findings were still in effect. The second thing the administration decided to do is to initiate a process to look at those issues which had been on the table for a couple of years and get them decided.

So, point five, that process which was initiated in the first week in February, uh, decided in principle, uh in the spring to add to the existing Clinton strategy and to increase CIA resources, for example, for covert action, five-fold, to go after Al Qaeda”

Repeat. “…..to increase CIA resources, for example, for covert action, five-fold, to go after Al Qaeda”

And yeah, that’s Fox News…but it is a verbatim transcript and other reporters were there. So don’t try the old “it’s Fox and I don’t believe BS on me.

Bush kept what was going on in place, resolved years old issues and increased resources 500%.

Now, what did we get out of these increased efforts. Let’s fast forward to another interview, this time with Bush’s NSA, Condi Rice. Now remember, at this point Clarke had been fired by Rice and written a book critical of Bush. So this interview was Rice’s response to Clarke. Now understand. She is using Clarke’s own WRITTEN words.

And here's the note that Dick wrote to me on September 15th: "When the era of national unity begins to crack in the near future, it is possible that some will start asking questions like, did the White House do a good job of making sure that intelligence about terrorist threats got to the FAA and other domestic law enforcement authorities, as the attached paper, which was sent to you in July, and the e-mail, also July, note, in late June the Interagency Counterterrorism Security Group, which I chair, warned of an upcoming, spectacular al Qaeda attack that would be qualitatively different. We convened on 5 July a special meeting of domestic federal law enforcement agencies because we could not rule out the possibility that the attack would be in the U.S." In fact, that was the meeting that we asked him to convene.

"At the special meeting on July 5 were the FBI, Secret Service, FAA, Customs, Coast Guard, and Immigration. We told them that we thought a spectacular al Qaeda terrorist attack was coming in the near future." That had been had been George Tenet's language. "We asked that they take special measures to increase security and surveillance. Thus, the White House did ensure that domestic law enforcement including the FAA knew that the CSG believed that a major al Qaeda attack was coming, and it could be in the U.S., and did ask that special measures be taken."

At this point I wish one of you Lefties would tell me what else Bush could have done. He had increased resources. The CIA used those resources and said an attack was coming. A meeting was convened and all the agencies were warned 70 days before the attack.

When I was young and dumb...er...dumber

Check the video link. Swinging in  the air."

It reminds me of when I was a boy. One summer when I was around the age of 12 two of my cousins and I found a long steel cable lying alongside the gravel road one of them lived by. (I also lived by a gravel road but not that one.)

Being industrious and having time on our hands, the crops being laid by and all, we dragged it home. (It never occurred to us that it might have belonged to the county road department and used with the road grader parked near by.) We worked diligently for several days climbing up this huge oak, pulling the cable up, looping it over a limb and then securing the loop with a clamp we borrowed from one of the dad’s work shop in the barn.

It dropped straight down to a ledge and could be pulled back to a higher point and then released and it would swing out and over this creek bed across and up and its arc it would go and then back and forth. The creek was only a foot deep or so and we were too smart to think we could drop into it.

For comfort we took an old tow sack, filled it with leaves and tied it to the cable. We could pull the cable back, jump on the sack as we released the cable and give our very best imitation of Tarzan swinging through the jungle.

Man, it was just soooooo cool.

Then one day I pulled it back, jumped on and swung out…and just kept going. Briefly down and then up and then on a downward path through small tree limbs, grape vines, bushes and landing in a patch of black berry bushes.

There wasn’t a spot on my arms and face that wasn’t skinned or scratched. But to say I was lucky is a world class understatement.  No eye was put out. No bones were broke. No doubt about it. The Lord was looking out for me that day.

We then looked at the limb now laying on the ground and  marveled at what friction can do. The limb had been “sawed” through by the pressure and back and forth movement of the cable.

Along about then my “wounds” were starting to hurt so we ran home where momma washed off the dirt with soapy water and doctored the worst ones with iodine. Which hurt worse than the scratches.

Of course we had violated what was the most important rule of our childhood. We had attracted the attention of the adults. They viewed the scene, passed out a world class shaming and scolding and dictated that we return the cable. Which we did. The road grader was still there patiently waiting for its annual use of smoothing out the gravel and filling the ruts. What the use of the cable was, outside of being an unwilling participant in our attempt to kill ourselves, I do not know.

Looking back I can see what other valuable lessons we were taught.

First, how to “cumshaw” necessary material. The cable and clamp. This training was very valuable in my Navy days.

Second, gravity pulls things down. Even me.

Thirdly, friction cuts. And does so quicker than you think.

Finally, teamwork. None of us could have been so dumb by ourselves.

Why we like Trump

An interesting analogy and it may be right on

You've been on vacation for two weeks, you come home, and your basement is infested with rats. Hundreds of rabid, messy, mean rats have overtaken your basement. You want them gone immediately so you hire a guy. A pro. You don't care if the guy smells, you need those rats gone pronto and he's the guy to do it! You don't care if the guy swears, you don't care if he's an alcoholic, you don't care how many times he's been married, you don't care if he voted for Obama, you don't care if he has plumber's crack...you simply want those rats gone!  You want your problem fixed!  He's the guy. He's the best. Period.

That's why Trump. Yes he's a bit of an ass, yes he's an egomaniac, but you don't care. The country is a mess because politicians suck, the Republican Party is two-faced & gutless, illegal's are everywhere. You want it all fixed! You don't care that Trump is crude, you don't care that he insults people, you don't care that he had been friendly with Hillary, you don't care that he has changed positions, you don't care that he's been married 3 times, you don't care that he fights with Megyn Kelly and Rosie O'Donnell, you don't care that he doesn't know the name of some Muslin terrorist,...this country is weak, bankrupt, our enemies are making fun of us, we are being invaded by illegal's, we are becoming a nation of victims where every Tom, Ricardo and Hamid is a special group with special rights to a point where we don’t even recognize the country we were born and raised in; “AND WE JUST WANT IT FIXED” and Trump is the only guy who seems to understand what the people want.  You're sick of politicians, sick of the Democratic Party, Republican Party, and sick of illegal's. You just want this thing fixed. Trump may not be a saint, but doesn’t have lobbyist money holding him, he doesn’t have political correctness restraining him, all you know is that he has been very successful, a good negotiator, he has built a lot of things, and he's also not a politician,  he's not a cowardly politician. And he says he'll fix it.

You don't care if the guy has bad hair.

You just want those rats gone.

Out of your house.

Now.

Hat tip to Mike Lamp.

The Barney Poodles and the Insiders

The media, on both sides, the politicians on both sides and the blogosphere are chattering like the nabobs of negativity…to steal a phrase…while trying to explain why Trump, and to a lesser degree, Cruz and Carson are the hands down favorites of the “Outsiders.”

I have never seen such idiotic explanations.

And along with those explanations we find disbelief that the base, aka known as the evangelicals, would accept Trump because of his multiple marriages. The religious right should be, in their opinion, raising up and casting Trump into a sea of fire and rushing to embrace, if not Jeb, then Rubio who attends Saturday prayer meetings.

The thing is this. The Tea Party is just so “2010.” What remains of it has mostly morphed into various variations of Libertarian and/or “Constitution” parties that spend time lecturing the country about the evils of Obamacare and (gasp!) the national debt.

Both, of course, are problems. But not so much for the “outsiders.”  They have other issues.

Of course the real question is…… Who are the “Outsiders?” Why aren’t they acting like the “Insiders” want them to act??

We're going back one, maybe 2, generations in some cases depending on location.

The norm was the man working. The woman staying home.

That's changed with all that goes with the change. More divorces. More latch key kids. Less time for the family as a group.

The result is a completely new dynamic among the source of the evangelicals. The result is a group that tends to leave religion in the church. A group that has supplied the bulk of enlisted military volunteers but hates how the wars are being fought. A group that has seen its income crater.

At the same time they have seen a flood of people enter the country. These people take the entry level jobs that the group once had. These people are identified as suppliers of terrorism attacks, crime in general and continual attacks on the culture of the group. Some are legal. Millions are illegal.  And the government is spending millions on them while telling Seniors the country can’t afford to give them a Social Security raise. They see people in check out lines paying for groceries with an EBT card while chatting on a free cell phone with their tattooed body on a disgusting display.

If you can afford tat’s, the Outsiders think, then you can damn well feed yourself and your kids.

And they see their schools teaching their children about how nice Islam is but not Christianity.

Wait the Outsiders say. Islam is birthing Muslim terrorists like a popcorn. Why in the bloody hell are we bringing more of’em into the country?

These folks are looking for someone that can state the concerns and who they believe can fix things.

They have no confidence in the DC Republicans and Democrats.

That's the strength of Trump, and somewhat, Cruz. Cruz is beloved by the political junkies of the group and has somewhat established himself as an outsider. Carson was beloved by the more religious in group. But the Left did the Repubs a favor and pushed his supporters to Trump and Cruz.

The parents of many of these were Reagan Democrats who moved over to Clinton in '92. They almost elected Gore in 2000 but enough of their children had become Repubs to elect Bush.

The war elected Obama. People wanted change. He promised change but wasn't specific. Trump and Cruz is specific.

And when I say specific I don't mean policy wonk specific. Trump says he'll stop Muslims from coming in until things are straightened out. That's good enough for them. He's a boss. They know he'll bring in the experts to get the job done. That's what a boss does. Define the task. Set goals.

The Outsiders aren’t looking golden words. They’re looking for competency.

And there is damn little in today's government.

Poker Tells

I play poker.

Poker is the most frustrating, aggravating, stimulating, boring, anger inducing, laughter making, brain exercise that exists.

The only thing even close is politics.

We are now engaged in a global war with a variety of terrorist groups all centered around the Islamic faith. It is silly for the Lefties and other dummies to attack Trump for him exercising his free speech rights about stopping Muslim immigration until we sort things out. I'd make it forever.

Am I the only person who remembers how many newspapers would not publish the Mohammed cartoon? (Yes, that one. The one in which the supposed moderate Muslims rioted and killed because he was insulted?)

And the criticism that preacher in  Florida received because he threatened to burn a Koran?

Now we find that ISIS is using Trump's reasonable statements in a recruiting ad. And the Lefties are going even more nuts than usual.

Folks, self censorship is still censorship.

And that shows us just how successful Muslims have came in controlling us. In changing our society.

Now, what would it take for them to leave us alone? Would just coming home do the job? Let's review what the daddy of all this mess, Osama bin Ladin, had to say to Peter Arnett, then with CNN, in this March '97 interview.

REPORTER: Mr. Bin Ladin, will the end of the United States' presence in Saudi Arabia, their withdrawal, will that end your call for jihad against the United States and against the US ?

BIN LADIN:....So, the driving-away jihad against the US does not stop with its withdrawal from the Arabian peninsula, but rather it must desist from aggressive intervention against Muslims in the whole world.

http://www.anusha.com/osamaint.htm

In case you are geography challenged.....America is in the "whole world."

Muslim refugees...

The following was written by:

“Dylan Irons is an adjunct lecturer of international business and Korean studies at Belmont University and also a contributor to the Policy Wire. He received his master’s degree in global affairs with an emphasis on refugee studies from Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea. Since 2012, he has worked with various refugee organizations in Korea and the United States, including the Mulmangcho School for North Korean Refugee Youth and the International Rescue Committee. He can be reached at Dylan.Irons@adjuncts.belmont.edu

in the 1/1/16 Tennessean.

I take exception.

Dylan writes: “To apply for refugee status, displaced persons must avail themselves to a foreign government.

They are then taken to an office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), where they provide an affidavit detailing persecution undergone in their home country.

Once the application for refugee status is submitted, the UNHCR investigates the claim and determines if it has merit. This process can take up to two years, longer given the mass movement of people into Europe at the moment.”

So what you are telling us is that the 10,000 that Obama wants to bring in to t
he US in 2016 has been in the pipeline for two years.

Let me be blunt. You are either naïve or trying to mislead us.

Dylan writes: “Once the United States receives a referral from the UNHCR, the refugee in question is then vetted by the Department of State, screened by the FBI, examined by the Department of Homeland Security, investigated by the National Counterterrorism Center, interviewed by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, and undergoes extensive medical evaluations.”

Snip

Dylan writes: “Refugees are the most security-screened persons coming into the United States.”

You need look no further than the Boston Marathon, the San Bernardino massacre or the Bowling Green plot to understand how ridiculous the idea that vetting of these people can actually protect us by identifying the radical islamists.

You need only look to the 51% of Muslims in the US who favor imposition of Sharia Law in the US to understand why we need no more Muslims being allowed to immigrate here for any reason.

http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/pages/americanattacks.htm

http://www.jihadwatch.org/.../51-of-u-s-muslims-want...

Dylan writes: “People are scared — according to Haslam, “as scared as much as anything I've ever seen.” But rejecting refugees only makes us more vulnerable. Accepting Syrian refugees fleeing ISIS into the Volunteer State and beyond undercuts the legitimacy of ISIS.

Let me understand. Letting people who have individuals in the group with a track record of terrorism and with knowledge that we cannot properly vet them into the country…….Makes us LESS vulnerable?

Really??

Again I speak bluntly. You are either naïve or trying to mislead us.

Dylan writes: “By rejecting them, we are pushing them back into the fold of the very terror they are fleeing.”

It is their fight. They should return and they should fight it in their country. They have no moral or legal right to have us adopt them and bring their problems into the US.

Dylan writes: “The governor said the more he learned about the vetting process, the more secure he felt about refugee resettlement.

He also encouraged President Barack Obama to be more engaged with local governments to allay fears and concerns.

I ask him to do the same with his constituents — engage with and educate people on what the actual process is rather than catering to fear mongering.”

The governor has so damaged his political position within the state by his lack of opposition to Obama that he would do well to switch parties to be a Democrat. He has no future as a Republican unless he rapidly changes direction.

Dylan, if you want to aid these people I urge you to go to their country and start working and quit talking.

And here I edit my previious comment. You are well educated and you are intelligent. What I, and many others do not understand is why with the intelligence and the education you have you do not focus on solving our problems instead of bringing in more.
